How We Can Help

Have a need? Call Love INC. The first thing you’ll hear is the voice of a caring, well equipped staff member. A staff member who will take the time to listen and care for you; who will inquire about the presenting need, but also explore the broader context of your situation. Everything we do revolves around relationships because Love INC isn’t just about meeting needs, it’s about meeting people where they are at, and helping them achieve their God-given potential. Here are a few of the ways we do that in our community.

We are not an emergency agency. If we can’t help a client directly, we offer phone numbers to other agencies who might be able to assist in crisis situations.

Connection Center

The Love INC Connection Center takes many requests for help each year. These calls are answered by caring staff members who listen to understand people’s situations and direct them to the most appropriate source of help. This can mean a referral to an area agency or services provided by area churches and volunteers through the Connection Center.

Transportation

We offer free rides to essential appointments like medical visits, pharmacy trips, food shelf access, and job interviews. Because rides are provided by volunteers, availability can vary from day to day. We ask that transportation requests be made at least 3–4 days in advance so we have time to coordinate a driver. This helps us serve everyone as smoothly and reliably as possible.

Thrift Store

Our downtown Buffalo thrift store is open to the public for shopping, donating, and volunteering. Clients may also shop with a voucher when a need arises. Donations are accepted Wednesday through Saturday between 10am and 3pm.

Minor Household/ Auto Repairs

Love INC Big Woods can sometimes help cover a portion of the cost for minor household or vehicle repairs. In some cases, trained volunteers may also be available to assist with the work itself. This support is designed to address urgent needs that impact safety, mobility, or basic living conditions. All assistance is subject to availability and assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Lullaby Ministry

Our Lullaby Ministry provides diapers, wipes, blankets, bottles, and other baby essentials to families with young children. This support is intended to meet short-term or crisis needs rather than serve as an ongoing supply service. The goal is to ensure that babies and caregivers have what they need during particularly challenging moments. Availability depends on donations and current inventory.

Gas Cards

When available, we offer gas cards to help clients travel to work, medical appointments, or other essential destinations. This assistance is intended for those who have their own vehicle but need short-term help covering fuel costs. Gas cards are offered occasionally and based on current resources. Requests are evaluated individually to ensure fair and responsible distribution.
